Welcome to the Stochampionat Sale 2010 arranged by Trottex and partners; Axevalla raceway and the local breeders association Västgötauppfödarna. The sale will be held Friday 23th of July. 99 wellbreed one-year-old horses are registrated for sale.

Day of auction: Friday 23th of July
Time: First call at 12.30, horses will been shown from 9.00 am.

Place: Axevalla raceway
Lowest bid: 20 000 SEK. VAT 25 % and stake fee for auction races 1 000 SEK will be added to the price.

It´s possible to bid by phone during the sale. In that case you need to send in an application before the sale starts.

Payment
Trottex don´t accept cash or credit cards. The best way to pay is with using of a Sale Account. It means that you send money to Trottex in advance. If you don´t spend the whole sum, the money will be transferred back to your account as soon as possible.

Notice!
Foreign buyers have to pay the VAT. If you’re applying for a TAX-refund the horse has to leave the country as soon as possible after the auction. To get the VAT back we need your VAT number (EU) and a certificate from the customs or the transport firm which proves that the horse has left Sweden as soon as possible after the sale (EU and non-EU). We need the VAT-number and the certificate within 30 days after the sale.

Buying a horse
When you are the highest bidder at the blow of the hammer, you have to stay where you are until an assistant approach you and you have signed the purchase agreement. Thereafter you have to contact the “secretariat” as soon as possible.

The buyer is obligated to exam the horse at all circumstances. The seller is only liable for hidden defects and only if the defect will affect the horses ability as a trotter. The buyer may only claim liability for hidden defects if the buyer within 30 days from the auction performs a veterinary inspection/X-ray and forwards a written complaint that is received by Trottex within 30 days from the auction. Thereafter no demands can be made towards the seller unless the seller has acted fraudulent. Read more in the Terms of auction on page 12-13 in the catalog.

Horse hotel
The horses are not allowed to stay for the night after the sale. If you can’t take the horse with you, just tell the secretariat staff and they will help you to contact the horse hotel.

Exportation
If you want to export the horse you have bought at the sale you have to pay the export certificate (1 875 SEK) to Svensk Travsport. Just tell the secretariat staff and they will help you arrange that.

New rules concerning anabolic steroids
Recently new rules concerning Anabolic Steroids were introduced. Anabolic Steroids have been totally forbidden in Sweden for a long time, but starting 2010 a positive test of usage of anabolic steroids will result in a competing ban for two years. In 2012 a positive test will result in a lifelong competing ban.
Due to this Trottex have updated the terms of auction by giving both sellers and buyers increased obligations. The seller will have an increased duty of information and the buyer will have an increased duty of examination. For the buyer to be able to perform his increased duties he has to be able to take a hair sample for analysis and receive an answer of the test within the time it’s possible to claim liability for hidden defects. Due to this Trottex has increased the number of days within which a complaint has to be made. It’s now possible to make a complaint for hidden defects due to usage of anabolic steroids within 60 days after the auction. Complaints due to other hidden defects has to med made within 30 days after the auction as before. If a complaint is made, Trottex has the right to withhold payment in full at the buyer’s request until the dispute is settled.
Test kits are available in the secretariat. Please contact Trottex for more information. Trottex will collect the samples taken and send them for analysis.
Estimated cost for the analysis is approximately 4 000 SEK. The analysis is expected to be performed within 8 weeks.
